Steven Gomez, a 31-year-old Indianapolis barber known for his love of motorcycles, died Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on the city’s southeast side.
What Happened
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers responded around 2:15 p.m. on September 20 to a report of a vehicle crash in the 6600 block of South Arlington Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a wrecked motorcycle and pickup truck at the scene.
Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck remained on-site and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing as IMPD works to determine what led to the crash. The Marion County Coroner’s Office formally identified Gomez on Monday.
