Tyler Etter, 23, of Bradford, Ohio, Killed in Rollover Crash on Horatio Harris Creek Road in Darke County

Tyler Etter, 23, of Bradford, Ohio, died after his 2023 Dodge Challenger left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and rolled multiple times on Horatio Harris Creek Road in Darke County’s Adams Township early Wednesday morning, September 16, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. His passenger, 20-year-old Emma Henderson of Versailles, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A pre-dawn drive on a rural Darke County road ended in tragedy Wednesday, leaving one young driver dead and his passenger hospitalized.

What Happened on Horatio Harris Creek Road

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua post responded to the crash around 4:03 a.m. on September 16 in Adams Township. According to a preliminary investigation, Etter was driving his Dodge Challenger eastbound on Horatio Harris Creek Road when the vehicle left the road on the left side, struck a utility pole, and overturned multiple times.

Etter was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel. His passenger, Emma Henderson, 20, of Versailles, was transported by ground ambulance to Upper Valley Medical Center with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Gettysburg Fire and EMS, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, and the Darke County Coroner’s Office.

Investigation Ongoing

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details about what led the vehicle to leave the roadway have been released.
