Barcelona 4-1 Galatasaray was the final score as Hansi Flick’s side produced a powerful second-half comeback at a hostile RAMS Park, overturning an early deficit to maintain their perfect start to this season’s Champions League.
Barcelona now sit on six points from two matches, while Galatasaray remain pointless after two games — a difficult start for the Turkish side in front of their own fans.
Galatasaray Strike First
Barcelona dominated the opening half hour, with Anthony Gordon, João Cancelo and Lamine Yamal all testing goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır or firing narrowly wide. Victor Osimhen was repeatedly caught offside as Galatasaray struggled to get a foothold in the game.
Against the run of play, the hosts broke the deadlock on the counterattack. Rafael Leão set up Alekséi Batrakov, whose right-footed strike from the center of the box found the bottom corner to make it 1-0 in the 28th minute, lifting a raucous home crowd.
Galatasaray thought they had doubled their lead six minutes later when Barış Alper Yılmaz turned the ball home, but after a VAR review the goal was ruled out for offside. Yunus Akgün then forced a smart save from Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García in the 37th minute as the hosts continued to press their advantage.
Barcelona responded just before the break. In the 43rd minute, Dani Olmo set up João Cancelo, who struck a right-footed shot from the left side of the box into the bottom corner to level the score at 1-1. Barcelona pushed for a second in stoppage time, with Gordon and Olmo both forcing further saves from Çakır before the teams went in level at halftime.
Barcelona Take Over After the Break
Barcelona seized control almost immediately after the restart. In the 50th minute, Lamine Yamal delivered a corner that Fermín López headed home to put the Catalans 2-1 ahead.
Three minutes later, Yamal turned provider again, supplying Anthony Gordon to finish from the right side of the six-yard box — his first Champions League goal for the club — to make it 3-1. Yamal was directly involved in both of Barcelona’s second-half opening goals.
Galatasaray responded with four changes in the 58th minute, bringing on Leroy Sané, Gabriel Sara and Lesley Ugochukwu in search of a way back into the match. But Barcelona had the final word: substitute Karim Adeyemi, on for Gordon just a minute earlier, added a fourth in the 65th minute with a left-footed finish from the left side of the box, completing the scoring at 4-1.

Galatasaray picked up two yellow cards late on — Leão in the 64th minute and Roland Sallai in the 86th — while Lucas Torreira was forced off injured in the 79th minute and replaced by Renato Nhaga. Barcelona continued to threaten in the closing stages, with Gabriel Jesus denied by Çakır in the 83rd minute and Adeyemi having a late effort blocked, while Galatasaray’s best chance of the period came from a long-range Ugochukwu strike that Joan García saved.
The match finished 4-1 after three minutes of second-half stoppage time.
What the Result Means
The win extends Barcelona’s unbeaten run under Hansi Flick and keeps them perfect through two matches in the Champions League’s league phase — the format in which clubs face a set of different opponents in a single table rather than the old group stage. Coming from behind in a hostile away atmosphere, and doing so with four goals in 37 minutes, underlines the squad depth and resilience Flick has instilled in his side this season.
For Galatasaray, the defeat deepens a difficult opening to their European campaign, leaving them without a point from their first two matches of the league phase.
Barcelona will take significant confidence from the manner of the win as their Champions League campaign continues.
